Vase and base were made from a solid piece of Boxelder wood turned to 1/16" inch. The grass was outlined and textured by using a wood burner. The butterfly was painted with transparent water color paints. The streaks of red are natural in Boxelder wood. The textured surface on the top reflects light and emphasizes vessel size.
